Here at Truman State University, Fraternity and Sorority Life has been shown year-after-year to be one of the best ways to get involved on campus. Students who are interested in joining a fraternity or sorority at Truman have many options, and we encourage you to take the opportunity to research our active chapters in order to make a decision that is best for you. Panhellenic Formal Recruitment

Formal Recruitment is the time when you can have your questions answered and decide if joining a sorority is the right choice for you. Formal Recruitment is approximately a week-long experience will happen September 6th-11th. IFC Recruitment

The formal IFC recruitment period takes place towards the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. Formal Recruitment is approximately week long, and this year is September 9th-16th. During the first few nights of Formal Recruitment, fraternities host open events for potential members to attend. Towards the end of the week, Formal Recruitment events become invite only.

IFC permits for Open Recruitment. If a potential member is in their first semester at Truman, they cannot accept a bid via Open Recruitment until after the conclusion of Formal Recruitment. If you have any questions about the IFC recruitment process, email, or visit the IFC website found here.


National Pan-Hellenic Council NPHC Intake

Students interested in joining an NPHC fraternity or sorority are encouraged to attend NPHC 101 and chapter-specific Informational Meetings.
